False Looks
Artist Notes
The world's gaze toward the dead in Gaza carries within it a mix of silence and indifference. Though eyes are turned toward us from every angle, watching the dead and observing the wounds, those gazes carry no real empathy or sense of responsibility. It’s as if we are just a fleeting scene in the lives of others, as if our deaths have become part of their daily routine, unworthy of stopping the world or stirring any genuine reaction. These gazes reveal how we have become worthless in the eyes of those who are supposed to have the power to change things. While countless eyes are upon us, the only truth remains that no one cares about the suffering we endure or what we are buried beneath in the rubble of war.
Preservation Notes
Osama's works have all been destroyed since October 7 2023, during what is now termed one of the most departing modern day holocaust's of our generation. These latest sketches are all done on his laptop that he has managed to salvage, and uses it as so many in his circumstance as an artistic tool to create and keep creating his sketches and drawings.
